Element Chain
Place ALLPLAN elements (walls, columns, macros and more) along any axis on the principle of a bicycle chain — the connectors act as pins and the fields as chain links. Lay out sheet piles, grillages and similar structures quickly, the axis bends smoothly, the chain can be edited afterwards and the start point moved.

See the add-on in action
An introduction to placing elements along an axis in ALLPLAN.
Elements along any axis
Fast, tidy placement of element series on the chain principle.
The chain concept
Connectors are the pins and fields the chain links — the series assembles itself.
Supported elements
Columns, walls, polygonal walls, 3D solids, groups, macros, SmartParts and PythonParts.
Any axis
Polygons, circles, element joints and splines as the placement axis.
Smooth axis bending
The chain adapts smoothly to bends and breaks in the axis.
Subsequent editing
Editing the chain at any time and moving the start point.
Quantities and export
The individual chain elements behave normally in quantity take-offs and exports.
Sheet piles and grillages
Fast layout of sheet piles, grillages and similar linear structures.
Croatian interface
The add-on is also available in Croatian, alongside several other languages.
What it is for
For quickly placing series of elements along a given axis.
Features and examples
Examples of elements placed along an axis.

Series along an axis
Elements laid out along a given axis.

Axis bending
The chain follows the bends and breaks of the axis.

Sheet piles
Laying out sheet piles along an axis.

Grillage
An example of a grillage structure.

Chain parameters
Settings and parameters of the chained series.

Working on reinforcement?
The ALLTO line automates 3D reinforcement in ALLPLAN — slabs, walls, beams, columns, foundations and elevator pits. It is built for structural engineers: parametric PythonParts create the bars, sections and labels, and the quantities come straight out of the model.
